New Test Facility for CO₂ Capture Opens in Brocēni
At the Brocēni cement plant in Latvia, we have opened our carbon capture test facility—a strong signal of our path toward climate-neutral cement production in Europe.
In addition to the CapsolGo® technology, the innovative solution from the Canadian company Svante is now being tested under real operational conditions. This deliberate technology mix allows us to compare different approaches and identify the best solutions for our sites—including those in Germany.
The significance of this step was highlighted by the high-level participation at the opening event—including the Prime Minister of Latvia, other government representatives, and the German Embassy in Riga.
A heartfelt thank you to all colleagues on site whose dedication made this important project and event possible.
Our collective commitment is the foundation for achieving our shared goal: significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and creating sustainable building materials for future generations—fully in line with our approach, “SUSTAINABILITY THAT WORKS.”
