WHAT’S NEW
AT SCHWENK
CEM III/B 42.5 N-LH/SR (old) to CEM III/B 42.5 L-LH/SR (new) – Karlstadt Plant
Name change: Blast furnace cement
At our Karlstadt plant, we offer our blast furnace cement CEM III/B 42.5 N-LH/SR in bulk. Effective January 1, 2023, this cement will be designated CEM III/B 42.5 L-LH/SR.
Reason for the name change:
Statistical analysis methods are used as part of the internal and external monitoring in accordance with DIN EN 196-1. This has shown that, after 2 days, the cement is close to the lower limit of the “42.5 N” compressive strength class, which is ≥ 10 MPa. To avoid having to modify the cement, we have classified it in the “42.5 L” class as a precaution, according to which the compressive strength after 7 days must be ≥ 16 MPa.
The composition, properties, and proven quality remain unaffected by these changes. The characteristic properties and the resulting compressive strengths of the concrete produced using this mixture also remain unchanged.
