On April 23, BFU Betonförderunion GmbH & Co. KG held its third in-house trade fair, “Partnerbörse,” in Raßnitz, attracting over 200 participants. The event provided a platform for customers, partners, and experts in the concrete industry to discuss the latest technologies and current developments.

This year, the focus was on occupational safety, digitalization, and the pumpability of concrete. A central theme of the trade show was the changing composition of cements and concrete mixtures, which is making the pumping of concrete increasingly complex and difficult. A series of technical presentations and live demonstrations were held on this topic, including the “Huckepack” collaborative project with TU Dresden on the early detection of concrete blockages.

The topic of “construction site safety” was also discussed in detail. The occupational safety specialists from SCHWENK Betonpumpendienst highlighted the hazards and challenges on construction sites. In addition, MSE Camsoft GmbH demonstrated its new “construction site app,” which digitizes the site inspection process and transmits the data in real time to the dispatch team to streamline operations.

During the live concrete pour, SCHWENK Beton Anhalt GmbH focused on pumping lightweight concrete with a bulk density of 1.4 t/m³. Despite the often conflicting requirements for the concrete and its workability when pumped, the truck-mounted concrete pump was able to deliver the concrete over a distance of 25 meters through 75-mm hoses without any problems.

Another highlight was a demonstration of a concrete pump being used as a centrifugal fire pump, in collaboration with the Raßnitz Volunteer Fire Department.
